The Hoff Family Legacy

Our Story

It all started on April 15, 1985, when Bill and Gayle Hoff opened the doors of the very first Chubby’s Pizza in South Lebanon, Ohio. Bill had been in the pizza business since the early 1970s in the Cincinnati area, and his loyal customers had a special nickname for him — “Chubby.” When it came time to name his own place, the choice was obvious.

From day one, Bill and Gayle built Chubby’s on a simple promise: fresh, in-house dough made daily and an original family sauce recipe that hasn’t changed since day one. That commitment to quality is what set Chubby’s apart in 1985, and it’s what keeps our customers coming back today.

Growing With Our Community

In 2000, the torch was passed to the second generation when Dennis Hoff took over day-to-day operations. Under Dennis’s leadership, Chubby’s grew from a single shop into a beloved Ohio institution.

• 2003 — We opened our second location in Morrow, Ohio, bringing Chubby’s pizza to a whole new community.
• 2009 — We added a soft-serve ice cream shop at our South Lebanon location, giving families even more reasons to visit.
• 2013 — Our third location opened in Blanchester as “Chubby’s Pizza and Dairy Point,” combining our famous pizza with sweet frozen treats.

Today, Chubby’s continues to be family owned and operated by the Hoff family, with Carly Hoff helping to carry on the tradition.
